Do you want to be known as a Qualified Hybrid Technician / Center?
QHAC = Qualified Hybrid Auto Center
QHAT = Qualified Hybrid Auto Tech
In order for you to be known as an ACDC Qualified Hybrid Auto Center and a Qualified Hybrid Auto tech; ACDC will require the following:
- You are / have an ASE Certified Tech in A1, A2, A6, A8, L1 and have taken ACDCs 8 hour hybrid class. Only a QHAT will service, diagnose or repair the hybrid vehicles left for service. Exceptions are hybrid repairs and service that has absolutely nothing to do with the fact the vehicle is a hybrid. Note: An oil change is a hybrid service but it can be a supervise service by a QHAT.
- You own ACDCs latest Hybrid Repair Manual and subscribe to ACDCs QHAC newsletter (exclusive to QHAT)
- Have passed the 50 Question ACDC QHAT test with 80% or higher.20 question re-up quiz.
- Own (or the shop you work at) a pair of 1000 volt, Class 0, rubber protective gloves in good condition.
- Own your own CAT III DVOM, with CAT III leads and ends.
- You own or have access to a factory scanner with updated software for the hybrid vehicles you work on.
- You have internet access at your shop and subscribe to the OEM web sites for the Hybrid you work on (It is OK to subscribe as needed)
- Your service writers have been trained by you or ACDC and will consult their QHAT as needed when hybrids are left for service.
- You have a way of handling customers complaints that satisfies the state and city laws
- ACDC's QHAT / QHAC certifications for one year from date of test taken and passed. A 20 question quiz will be given yearly to stay updated.
What ACDC will do for you:
- Train your staff, techs, etc. (this is an additional cost). You can take ACDC's 4-day (fly into Massachusetts) workshop or you can take a class in your area; See the ACDC web site for locations and details. www.auto-careers.org
- Send 2 Qualification Color Certificates, 2 11 x 17 Shop Marketing Posters, and wallet identification
- List your shop on ACDC web site.
- Send you one updated ACDC manual per shop at no additional fee when you re-up at the end of the first year. Re up fee for a shop will be 1/2 the normal rate. Tech re-up quiz is 15.00 per tech.
- Provide tech support as time allows.
- Provide test for 1 tech. (Additional tests is $25.00 per tech and includes #2)
- Send a quarterly newsletter via E mail.
- Help market your business. Hybrid hats ($12.00) Patches ($6.00)
- Include your shop name in correspondence with national media when possible.
- Cost for this Qualification program is $295.00 per year for one shop at one site up to 3 techs. $50 for each additional tech at the same shop. Additional sites are $195.00 per site. (Note additional fees above). Individual techs may become a QHAT for $159.00 per year but the shop is not qualified, only the tech is.
