ACDC involvement with the program is on hold pending a decision from the DEP.
Greetings from ACDC,
your Massachusetts OBDII training company.
To Shop Owners;
Many of you have not received the required OBDII Proficiency Class to become a Registered Repairer in Massachusetts. Becoming a Certified Registered Repairer in Massachusetts will help to get your businesses name recognized and put you one step ahead of the competition. The vast majority of motorists do not have a repair shop they call their own, so your name on the state registered repair shop list will provide a great opportunity of attracting new business.
Even if the registered repair tech number assigned to you is old, and you are no longer on the list, you are eligible to take the 20 hr OBDII update class for under $300.00. Most 20 hr classes that include workbooks sell for well over $600.00. In this class, 50% is in the classroom, and 50% is working on the cars-with factory and aftermarket scan tools. You can also bring your own equipment to learn on and practice your skills. Craig will be stressing Mode 6 and EVAP. The cost of this class for Registered Repairers is $299.
If you have never been a registered shop or a registered technician, you can still take this class. This training and your L1 certification gets you into the Registered Repairer Program. You can take this class before you get your L1. The cost of the class if you have never been a Registered Repairer is an additional $112.50. That makes the total $411.50.
Special OBDII classes for dealerships and others:
ACDC will come to your dealership over a 3 day period during the week and conduct the class there. A minimum of 12 students is required. A maximum of 22 is allowed. Classes will be held from 9 - 4:30 each day. 1/2 hour for lunch.You need to provide a classroom and two bays for hands-on training. ACDC will provide the projector, screen. laptop, tools, scan tools, an OBDII car, books and all required state forms. ACDC will walk you through the process from start to finish if required. The fees above stay the same and a small travel fee is required. Call or E mail Craig for a quote.
Who is ACDC?
We are a training company providing national and international automotive technical and management training. ACDC was one of the original state training facilities back in 1999. Craig Van Batenburg is the owner of ACDC and he will be your trainer. Craig was the owner and lead tech at Van Batenburg’s Garage for over 26 years before moving into training full time. His shop, VBG, inc. was a MA registered repair shop and Craig found that to be very valuable to his repair business.
Would you like to enroll? It’s easy! Call Deb, the training administrator and wife at (508) 400-4656.
Class location for the next training is BRAVO GARAGE, 32 Cambridge Street, Worcester. Classes begin at 6pm each night. Dinner is served at 5:30pm for an additional $9.00 per night. There is a place on your form to sign up for the meal package.
P.S. If you need training closer to home, call Craig at (800) 939-7909 to discuss it.
