After teaching hybrid technology in classrooms for years, I kept hearing the same request "I want an extensive hands-on class". OK! It is here. Up Your Voltage! Classes have been held since June 2006. Every one is better than the last as ACDC learns more and adds more value.
The short version: The hybrid cars pictured here (and more, Ford, Honda and Toyota brands) are yours for 5 days. Get yourself to Massachusetts and spend 5 days studying, driving, testing, scanning, scoping, servicing, and taking these hybrids apart. All I ask is that they run when you leave. Hybrids owned by ACDC

Everything included except airfare. 4 techs per car with your own private tech/ teacher. I will be there of course helping everyone. A prior ACDC hybrid class is helpful but not required. Craig reserves the right to limit this class to those that have a sufficient level of hybrid automotive knowledge.

Try to land between 4pm and 8pm on Wednesday night. Get a good nights sleep and get ready for training that is first rate, fun, and exciting. We will go where few have gone before!
What happens at Up Your Voltage? As soon as you enroll 3 books and 4 DVDs are shipped to you to study ahead of time unless you sign up less than two weeks ahead. Your class starts as soon as you say YES to your future. These books can be purchased or you can borrow them for study and return them at the class.
We have added an EXTRA 8 hours of training. Thursday 8am - 4:30 pm. Starting with UYV! X you now have more training as the class starts at 8 am Thursday morning. This new class is designed to help you in electrical theory, use of scopes or meters, understanding of hybrid components such as inverters, DC-DC converters, and more.
Wednesday 9pm -10pm Welcome Reception
Thursday: 8 - 8 Classroom, Dinner @ 5:30pm. This day we cover the theory and education part of hybrid technology. If you have any gaps in your educational background, ACDC will get you up to speed.
Friday: 8 -8
Get up early, eat hearty and off we go to the classroom. Class is 8—8 with lunch and dinner catered so we can get down to business. Hybrids will be available to drive during class. Craig Van Batenburg will lead the class. The class is an advanced class with case studies, but we will go over anything that is required by any student. Scan tools will be used this day. Friday is geared for techs so you can get back into your bay and start right away fixing hybrids and making money.
Friday night is Cigars and Beer.
Saturday: 8AM—8PM
After breakfast we are off to the site. You will spend the next two days at Wayside Garage. The shop will allow you access to lifts, tools, equipment, scanners, (this is a well equipped shop) and give you time to carefully remove the HV battery packs, inverters, HV cables, DC-DC converters, and anything else that interests you. We will test them as we go. Groups of 4 techs will each have a car to learn on. The hybrid cars will be rotated to another team of four. Lunch and dinner (Fresh Boiled Lobster) will be catered by one of our best local caterers. This is a long day but it is well worth it.
This class is a lot like boot camp. It is total immersion.
Sunday: 8:30 AM—5:30PM
After breakfast we will be back at the site for day # 3. More of "Up Your Voltage!" with hands on as the cars you learned on the day before are now bugged and you will be asked to fix no-starts and driveabilty problems. The afternoon is spent solving problems that Craig had been asked about in classrooms, shops and doing tech support that need real world answers. From 3 - 5 pm we have a scan tool shoot out and about 5pm we put all the ACDC Hybrid cars back together and get on our way by 6 pm.
Dinner is at 8pm that evening we are off to a quaint New England town for a New England feast. Relax while eating some of the best food around.
Monday: 8AM—12PM
We will stay at the hotel where the meeting room is. More classroom time and a good wrap up session. There will be times when each team will present a "teachable moment". A group photo, and at noon is is graduation time. A box lunch and then back to the airport. Your mind will now be ready for any hybrid problem that comes your way and all in just 5 days. "Up Your Voltage" will be your mantra.
Optional before class:
Relax and enjoy ACDC country on your own. Borrow an ACDC Hybrid before the class and see the country side. You are 1 hour from Boston, Cape Cod, 2 hours to NH, ME. Less than 30 minutes from the Atlantic ocean. (your only addition cost is more hotel nights and some food)
ACDC needs the cars back Wednesday at 6 pm. This is on a "first come, first serve" basis so call ahead.
What did the Media say? What did the students say?
